Behind the Mic: Nerves, Art, & Finding Community
Hello, friends!
If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you might have noticed my feed looking a little... repetitive lately. (Shoutout to everyone tolerating my grid-perfectionist tendencies this week!) But there is a very big, very exciting reason I’ve been shouting it from the rooftops: my episode of the Art Talk with April podcast is officially live!
When April first reached out to me earlier this spring about coming onto the show to talk about my artist journey, my immediate reaction was a mix of pure excitement and absolute terror.
Sharing your art is one thing—putting your actual story, your business evolution, and your creative philosophy out into the world is another. During the episode, I actually shared one of my absolute favorite quotes by Dolly Parton: "Find out who you are and do it on purpose." That has truly been the heartbeat of my journey as an artist, but trying to live that out on camera? Cue the instant imposter syndrome! 🎬
I’ll be completely honest with you: sitting in front of those rolling cameras had me incredibly nervous. I spent the first few minutes wondering what to do with my hands and hoping I sounded like a coherent professional. But the moment April and I started digging into the heart of what it means to create, the nerves completely melted away. We had the most wonderful time connecting and diving deep into the messy, beautiful reality of building an art business.
Whether you’re a fellow creative navigating your own path, an art collector, or just someone who loves a good story about chasing a dream, I would be so honored if you took a listen (or a watch!).

Bringing the Creative Connection Offline: The Portrait Night Out 🎨✨
Speaking of connecting over art, my favorite conversations are always the ones that happen across a canvas. That’s why I am so thrilled to invite you to a brand-new, completely unique in-person experience I’m hosting very soon: The Portrait Night Out!
If you're looking to ditch the usual routine for a night of genuine laughter, creativity, and connection, this is for you.
The Concept: A Creative Duo Evening. Bring your partner, your daughter, your mom, or your best friend. The person sitting across from you becomes your muse! I will guide you both through a fun, relaxed portrait-painting session where you capture each other on canvas. The catch? You keep your work hidden from each other until the very end of the night, when we toast to the big reveal! 🥂
When: July 16th from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Where: 1837 W. Main Street, Suite 3
What’s Included: Two canvases, premium painting supplies, a gourmet taco bar, and a complimentary signature margarita. 🌮🍹
This event is perfect for seasoned creatives and absolute beginners alike—no prior painting experience required, just a sense of fun!
An Important Note on Space: Because I want to keep this experience intimate, relaxed, and deeply personal, there are only 5 pair spots available.
Spots are $140 per pair and will fill up fast. If you want to claim your canvas and share a truly memorable evening of art and laughter, click below to reserve your spot!
